Lund University
 Lund University is the largest unit for research and higher education in Sweden. The university has 37,200 students and 6,000 staff. The university is situated in Lund with departments for research and education in Malmö and Helsingborg.

The University covers both traditional academic disciplines and performing arts. Lund University cooperates with a great number of universities and research institutes all over the world and takes part in educational and research programmes carried out by the European Union. The university stays truly international through extensive exchange programmes with universities throughout the world.

Lund University is divided into seven faculties:
• Lund Institute of Technology
• Faculty of Science
• Faculty of Law
• Faculty of Social Sciences
• Faculty of Medicine
• Faculties of Arts and Theology
• Department of Economics

Malmö University
 Malmö University was founded in 1998 as one of Sweden's newest higher education initiatives. It combines tradition and novelty as some faculties already existed as a part of Lund University and some units are new. It has around 18,000 students, both full and part-time, and 1,000 staff members, including 524 lecturers. 

The University collaborates closely with regional businesses and public institutions. It is now expanding its links and co-operation with other institutions worldwide. 

The university offers courses in: technology and society, arts and communication, dentistry, health and society, international migration and ethnic relations, and teacher education.

Kristianstad University
 Kristianstad University, founded in 1977, is one of the newest Swedish universities. The university has around 6,000 students of which 2,500 are fulltime. There are approximately 250 teachers, 25% of whom possess a doctor degree.
The main campus is situated just outside Kristianstad town centre, in the Northeast of Skåne. The university offers courses in engineering, human, social, natural, behavioural and health sciences, and business administration.

Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU)
 The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) was established in 1977 but its roots stretch back more than 200 years. The main campus is located at Alnarp close to Malmö. The university has three faculties: 1. Agriculture, Landscape Planning and Horticulture. 2.Forestry and 3. Veterinary Medicine. The university employs a total of 3,300 people and has around 4500 students.
