Landskrona municipality has a long history being a shipbuilding and industrial city. The economy of Landskrona is characterised, even today, by the industrial sector, but the strategic location in an expansive region means new opportunities.
Good relations both with trains, planes and a well-developed road network, contributes to the strong business climate. This is evident on the small island of Ven, with its 370 residents, that has created 70 active companies, which include everything from fishing to whiskey production.
During 2012 LINC, Landskrona Innovation centre will open, with the aim to become the best development environment for future consumption. Many well-known companies have their registered office in Landskrona’s municipality, and the availability of land and premises, not least in the Crown business park, means a steadily increase. Landskrona’s port is well-developed and harbours large ships and the local airport for business jets is within two kilometres away.
Landskrona municipality has 42 200 inhabitants today, of which about 30 000 are residing in Landskrona city.
