1. Food and Drink – Special Conditions Mean Special Traditions
On Skåne’s food scene, the art of putting together food and drink that incorporates a pinch of tradition and a large bundle of innovation and culture has been mastered. Take Absolut Vodka, for instance. It’s not a coincidence that it is produced here. The cold winters and local farmland give the wheat a unique, intense taste. The characteristic designer bottles are filled with vodka made from Skåne’s Åhus wheat, mixed with exciting, inventive flavours. Put simply, a work of art.
We also make art from Kivik apples. The world’s biggest apple painting, made from 35,000 apples, is revealed every year at the apple market in Kivik. Various apple drinks are tasted, and the winner of the golden apple of the year award is presented. We are serious about apples in Skåne.10 things that make Skåne special, inventive and fun
